ಆಚರಿಸುವ ರೀತಿ
ವೈಷ್ಣವರು ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನದವರೆಗೆ ಉಪವಾಸವಿದ್ದು, ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಮತ್ತು ಬಲರಾಮರ ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳಿಗೆ ಅಭಿಷೇಕ ಮಾಡಿ ಅಲಂಕರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಇಸ್ಕಾನ್ ದೇವಾಲಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕೀರ್ತನೆ, ಬಲರಾಮನ ಲೀಲೆಗಳ ಪಠಣ ಮತ್ತು ಭೋಜನದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಈ ದಿನವನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಮನೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇದೇ ಹುಣ್ಣಿಮೆಯಂದು ರಕ್ಷಾಬಂಧನ ಮತ್ತು ಉಪಾಕರ್ಮವೂ ಇರುತ್ತದೆ.
ಕಥೆ
ಬಲರಾಮನು ಕೃಷ್ಣನ ಅಣ್ಣ. ಕಂಸನು ಕೊಲ್ಲದಿರಲಿ ಎಂದು ಯೋಗಮಾಯೆಯು ಇವನನ್ನು ದೇವಕಿಯ ಗರ್ಭದಿಂದ ಗೋಕುಲದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ರೋಹಿಣಿಯ ಗರ್ಭಕ್ಕೆ ಒಯ್ದಳೆಂದು ಭಾಗವತ ಹೇಳುತ್ತದೆ; ಆದ್ದರಿಂದಲೇ ಇವನಿಗೆ ಸಂಕರ್ಷಣ ಎಂಬ ಹೆಸರು ಬಂತು. ಇವನು ನೇಗಿಲು ಮತ್ತು ಗದೆಯನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ವೈಷ್ಣವರು ಇವನನ್ನು ಕೃಷ್ಣನ ಮೊದಲ ವಿಸ್ತರಣೆ ಎಂದೂ, ಆಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮಿಕ ಶಕ್ತಿಯ ಮೂಲವೆಂದೂ ನಂಬುತ್ತಾರೆ.
ಅನುದಿನ ಕೊಡುವ ದಿನ
ಶ್ರಾವಣ ಮಾಸದ ಹುಣ್ಣಿಮೆ ತಿಥಿಯು ಸೂರ್ಯೋದಯದ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವ ದಿನವನ್ನು ಅನುದಿನ ಆ್ಯಪ್ ನೀಡುತ್ತದೆ.
ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಗೌಡೀಯ (ಇಸ್ಕಾನ್) ಪರಂಪರೆಯನ್ನು ಆಯ್ದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಓದುಗರು ಎಲ್ಲೇ ಇದ್ದರೂ ಅನುದಿನ ಇದನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಹಬ್ಬಗಳು ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಕಾಣಿಸುತ್ತವೆ; ಪರಂಪರೆಯ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯು ದಿನಗಳನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಸುತ್ತದೆಯಷ್ಟೇ.

How it is kept
Vaishnavas fast until noon, and the deities of Krishna and Balarama are bathed and dressed. In ISKCON temples the day is kept with kirtana, a reading of Balarama’s pastimes and a feast. The same full moon is Raksha Bandhan and the Upakarma in most homes.
The story
Balarama is Krishna’s elder brother. The Bhagavata tells that Yogamaya carried him from Devaki’s womb to Rohini’s at Gokula, so that Kamsa would not kill him, and so he is called Sankarshana. He carries a plough and a club. Vaishnavas hold him to be the first expansion of Krishna, the source of spiritual strength.
Which day Anudina gives
Anudina gives the day on which the Shravana purnima, the full moon tithi of Shravana, is running at sunrise.
Anudina shows it to readers who tick the Gaudiya (ISKCON) lineage in the Tradition sheet, wherever they are. The general festivals are always shown; a lineage only adds days.
