ಬೆಳಗ್ಗೆ ಹಾಸಿಗೆಯಿಂದ ಏಳುವಾಗ ಅನೇಕ ಮನೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಳುವ ಪ್ರಾತಃಸ್ಮರಣೆಯ ಶ್ಲೋಕ ಇದು. ಒಂದೇ ಉಸಿರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮ, ವಿಷ್ಣು, ಶಿವರನ್ನೂ ಒಂಬತ್ತು ಗ್ರಹಗಳನ್ನೂ ಇದು ನೆನೆಯುತ್ತದೆ.
ಗ್ರಹಗಳನ್ನು ಭಯದಿಂದ ಶಾಂತಗೊಳಿಸುವ ಧಾಟಿ ಇದರಲ್ಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಸೇರಿ ನನ್ನ ದಿನದ ಬೆಳಗನ್ನು ಶುಭವಾಗಿಸಲಿ ಎಂದು ಸ್ನೇಹದಿಂದ ಕೇಳುವ ಮಾತು ಇದರ ವಿಶೇಷ.
ಶ್ಲೋಕ (ಕನ್ನಡ)
ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾ ಮುರಾರಿಸ್ತ್ರಿಪುರಾಂತಕಾರೀ ಭಾನುಃ ಶಶೀ ಭೂಮಿಸುತೋ ಬುಧಶ್ಚ ।
ಗುರುಶ್ಚ ಶುಕ್ರಃ ಶನಿರಾಹುಕೇತವಃ ಕುರ್ವಂತು ಸರ್ವೇ ಮಮ ಸುಪ್ರಭಾತಮ್ ॥

ब्रह्मा मुरारिस्त्रिपुरान्तकारी भानुः शशी भूमिसुतो बुधश्च ।
गुरुश्च शुक्रः शनिराहुकेतवः कुर्वन्तु सर्वे मम सुप्रभातम् ॥

ಪದಶಃ ಅರ್ಥ
- ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾ (ब्रह्मा, brahmā) = ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಕರ್ತ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮ (Brahma, the creator)
- ಮುರಾರಿಃ (मुरारिः, murāriḥ) = ಮುರನೆಂಬ ಅಸುರನ ಶತ್ರು, ಅಂದರೆ ವಿಷ್ಣು (Murari, foe of the demon Mura, that is Vishnu)
- ತ್ರಿಪುರಾಂತಕಾರೀ (त्रिपुरान्तकारी, tripurāntakārī) = ಮೂರು ಪುರಗಳನ್ನು ನಾಶಮಾಡಿದ ಶಿವ (Shiva, destroyer of the three cities)
- ಭಾನುಃ ಶಶೀ (भानुः शशी, bhānuḥ śaśī) = ಸೂರ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಚಂದ್ರ (the sun and the moon)
- ಭೂಮಿಸುತಃ (भूमिसुतः, bhūmisutaḥ) = ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮಗ, ಮಂಗಳ (son of the earth, Mars)
- ಬುಧಃ ಚ (बुधः च, budhaḥ ca) = ಮತ್ತು ಬುಧ (and Mercury)
- ಗುರುಃ ಚ ಶುಕ್ರಃ (गुरुः च शुक्रः, guruḥ ca śukraḥ) = ಗುರು ಮತ್ತು ಶುಕ್ರ (Jupiter and Venus)
- ಶನಿರಾಹುಕೇತವಃ (शनिराहुकेतवः, śanirāhuketavaḥ) = ಶನಿ, ರಾಹು ಮತ್ತು ಕೇತು (Saturn, Rahu and Ketu)
- ಕುರ್ವಂತು ಸರ್ವೇ (कुर्वन्तु सर्वे, kurvantu sarve) = ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಮಾಡಲಿ (may they all make)
- ಮಮ ಸುಪ್ರಭಾತಮ್ (मम सुप्रभातम्, mama suprabhātam) = ನನ್ನ ಬೆಳಗನ್ನು ಶುಭವಾಗಿ (my morning a good one)
ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಅರ್ಥ (ಕನ್ನಡ)
ಬ್ರಹ್ಮ, ವಿಷ್ಣು, ಮೂರು ಪುರಗಳನ್ನು ಗೆದ್ದ ಶಿವ, ಸೂರ್ಯ, ಚಂದ್ರ, ಮಂಗಳ, ಬುಧ, ಗುರು, ಶುಕ್ರ, ಶನಿ, ರಾಹು ಮತ್ತು ಕೇತು, ಇವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ನನ್ನ ಈ ಬೆಳಗನ್ನು ಶುಭವಾಗಿಸಲಿ.
ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಅರ್ಥ (ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್)
May Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva who destroyed the three cities, the Sun, the Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Rahu and Ketu all make this morning of mine a good one.
ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕದ ಬಗ್ಗೆAbout this verse
ಬೆಳಗಿನ ಪ್ರಾತಃಸ್ಮರಣ ಶ್ಲೋಕಗಳ ಸರಣಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇದು ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಮೊದಲಿಗೆ ಬರುತ್ತದೆ. ಇದನ್ನು ವಾಮನ ಪುರಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿದ್ದೆಂದು ಹೇಳುವುದುಂಟು. ಅದೇ ಸರಣಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಋಷಿಗಳು, ನದಿಗಳು, ಪರ್ವತಗಳು ಎಲ್ಲವೂ ಸುಪ್ರಭಾತ ನೀಡಲಿ ಎಂದು ಬೇಡುವ ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು ಶ್ಲೋಕಗಳಿವೆ.
This verse usually opens the series of morning remembrance verses, and it is often said to belong to the Vamana Purana. The same series has further verses asking sages, rivers and mountains to bless the morning.
ಗ್ರಹಗಳ ಹೆಸರುಗಳು ವಾರದ ದಿನಗಳ ಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲೇ ಬರುತ್ತವೆ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸಿ. ಭಾನು ಭಾನುವಾರಕ್ಕೆ, ಶಶಿ ಸೋಮವಾರಕ್ಕೆ, ಭೂಮಿಸುತ ಮಂಗಳವಾರಕ್ಕೆ, ನಂತರ ಬುಧ, ಗುರು, ಶುಕ್ರ, ಶನಿ. ರಾಹು ಕೇತುಗಳು ಕೊನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ.
Notice that the planets come in the order of the days of the week: Bhanu for Sunday, Shashi for Monday, the son of the earth for Tuesday, then Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Saturn, with Rahu and Ketu at the end.

ಇಂದಿನ ಬದುಕಿಗೆFor life today
ದಿನ ಹೇಗೆ ಸಾಗಬೇಕು ಎಂಬುದು ಬಹಳಷ್ಟು ನಮ್ಮ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೂ ಕಣ್ಣು ಬಿಟ್ಟ ತಕ್ಷಣ, ಫೋನಿನ ಸುದ್ದಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಮುನ್ನ, ಇಡೀ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾಂಡವೇ ನನ್ನ ಪರವಾಗಿರಲಿ ಎಂಬ ಒಂದು ಸಾಲು ಹೇಳಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದು ಮನಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ಸ್ಥಿರವಾದ ಆರಂಭವನ್ನು ಕೊಡುತ್ತದೆ.
Much of how a day goes is not in our hands. Still, saying one line on waking, before the news on the phone, asking that the whole cosmos be on our side, gives the mind a steady start.
