ಪೂಜೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಧೂಪ ಬೆಳಗುವಾಗ ಹೇಳುವ ವನಸ್ಪತಿ ರಸೋದ್ಭೂತೋ ಮಂತ್ರ: ಕನ್ನಡ, ದೇವನಾಗರಿ ಮತ್ತು IAST ಪಾಠ, ಪದಶಃ ಅರ್ಥ ಮತ್ತು ವಿವರಣೆ.

ಶ್ಲೋಕ (ಕನ್ನಡ)

ವನಸ್ಪತಿರಸೋದ್ಭೂತೋ ಗಂಧಾಢ್ಯೋ ಗಂಧ ಉತ್ತಮಃ ।
ಆಘ್ರೇಯಃ ಸರ್ವದೇವಾನಾಂ ಧೂಪೋಽಯಂ ಪ್ರತಿಗೃಹ್ಯತಾಮ್ ॥

वनस्पतिरसोद्भूतो गन्धाढ्यो गन्ध उत्तमः ।
आघ्रेयः सर्वदेवानां धूपोऽयं प्रतिगृह्यताम् ॥

vanaspatirasodbhūto gandhāḍhyo gandha uttamaḥ |
āghreyaḥ sarvadevānāṃ dhūpo’yaṃ pratigṛhyatām ||

ವನಸ್ಪತಿರಸೋದ್ಭೂತಃ (वनस्पतिरसोद्भूतः, vanaspatirasodbhūtaḥ) = ಮರದ ರಸದಿಂದ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದವನು (born of the sap of trees)
ಗಂಧಾಢ್ಯಃ ಗಂಧಃ ಉತ್ತಮಃ (गन्धाढ्यः गन्धः उत्तमः, gandhāḍhyaḥ gandhaḥ uttamaḥ) = ಸುಗಂಧಭರಿತವಾದ, ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ ಸುಗಂಧ (rich in fragrance, the finest of scents)

ಷೋಡಶೋಪಚಾರ ಪೂಜೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಗಂಧ, ಪುಷ್ಪ, ಧೂಪ, ದೀಪ, ನೈವೇದ್ಯ ಎಂಬ ಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಧೂಪ ಎಂಟನೆಯ ಉಪಚಾರ, ವಾಸನೆಯ ಇಂದ್ರಿಯವನ್ನು ದೇವರೆಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿಸುವ ಹಂತ.

In the sixteen step worship, incense is the eighth offering after sandal paste and flowers, the step that turns the sense of smell towards the deity.

ಈ ಮಂತ್ರ ಎಲ್ಲ ದೇವತೆಗಳ ಪೂಜೆಯಲ್ಲೂ ಬಳಕೆಯಾಗುವ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಉಪಚಾರ ಮಂತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು.

The idea that even an invisible fragrance can be offered is a reminder that devotion is not limited only to things that can be seen.
