ಸಾವಿರ ಹೆಸರುಗಳ ಪಟ್ಟಿ ಶುರುವಾಗುವುದು ಈ ಸಾಲಿನಿಂದ.
ಮೊದಲ ಹೆಸರೇ ವಿಶ್ವಂ. ಅಂದರೆ ಎಲ್ಲವೂ. ಮೊದಲ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆಯಲ್ಲೇ ಗಡಿ ಇಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಶ್ಲೋಕ (ಕನ್ನಡ)
ವಿಶ್ವಂ ವಿಷ್ಣುರ್ವಷಟ್-ಕಾರೋ ಭೂತ-ಭವ್ಯ-ಭವತ್-ಪ್ರಭುಃ ।
ಭೂತ-ಕೃದ್ ಭೂತ-ಭೃದ್ ಭಾವೋ ಭೂತಾತ್ಮಾ ಭೂತ-ಭಾವನಃ ॥ 1 ॥
ಶ್ಲೋಕ (ದೇವನಾಗರಿ)
विश्वं विष्णुर्वषट्कारो भूत-भव्य-भवत्-प्रभुः ।
भूत-कृद् भूत-भृद् भावो भूतात्मा भूत-भावनः ॥ 1 ॥

viśvaṃ viṣṇur vaṣaṭ-kāro bhūta-bhavya-bhavat-prabhuḥ |
bhūta-kṛd bhūta-bhṛd bhāvo bhūtātmā bhūta-bhāvanaḥ || 1 ||
ಪದಶಃ ಅರ್ಥ
- ವಿಶ್ವಂ (विश्वम्, viśvaṃ) = ಎಲ್ಲೆಡೆ ಆವರಿಸಿರುವವನು (the universe, or the all-pervading one)
- ವಿಷ್ಣುಃ (विष्णुः, viṣṇuḥ) = ವಿಷ್ಣು (Vishnu, the all-pervading Lord)
- ವಷಟ್-ಕಾರಃ (वषट्कारः, vaṣaṭ-kāraḥ) = ಯಜ್ಞಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಆಹ್ವಾನಿತನಾಗುವವನು (the one who is invoked in Yajnas or sacrificial rituals)
- ಭೂತ-ಭವ್ಯ-ಭವತ್-ಪ್ರಭುಃ (भूत-भव्य-भवत्-प्रभुः, bhūta-bhavya-bhavat-prabhuḥ) = ಭೂತ, ವರ್ತಮಾನ ಹಾಗೂ ಭವಿಷ್ಯದ ಪ್ರಭು (the Lord of the past, present, and future)
- ಭೂತ-ಕೃದ್ (भूत-कृद्, bhūta-kṛd) = ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸುವವನು (the creator of all beings)
- ಭೂತ-ಭೃದ್ (भूत-भृद्, bhūta-bhṛd) = ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಪಾಲಿಸುವವನು (the sustainer of all beings)
- ಭಾವಃ (भावः, bhāvaḥ) = ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜೀವಿಗಳ ಸಾರ (the essence of all beings or existence itself)
- ಭೂತಾತ್ಮಾ (भूतात्मा, bhūtātmā) = ಎಲ್ಲ ಜೀವಿಗಳ ಆತ್ಮ (the soul of all beings)
- ಭೂತ-ಭಾವನಃ (भूत-भावनः, bhūta-bhāvanaḥ) = ಎಲ್ಲ ಜೀವಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಪೋಷಣೆ ನೀಡುವವನು (the nurturer or supporter of all beings)
ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಅರ್ಥ (ಕನ್ನಡ)
ವಿಷ್ಣು ವಿಶ್ವವನ್ನು ಆವರಿಸಿರುವವನು, ಯಜ್ಞಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಆಹ್ವಾನಿತನಾಗುವವನು, ಭೂತ, ವರ್ತಮಾನ ಮತ್ತು ಭವಿಷ್ಯದ ಪ್ರಭು. ಅವನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಕರ್ತ, ಪಾಲಕ ಮತ್ತು ಎಲ್ಲ ಜೀವಿಗಳ ಆತ್ಮ. ಎಲ್ಲ ಜೀವಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಪೋಷಣೆ ಒದಗಿಸುವವನೂ ಅವನೇ.
ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಅರ್ಥ (ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್)
Vishnu is the universe itself, the one who pervades all. He is invoked in sacred rituals and is the Lord of the past, present, and future. He is the creator, sustainer, and the essence of all beings. He is the soul of all creation and the one who nurtures and supports everything.
