Sridhara explains that Bhishma&#8217;s heart holds affection for both sides, while Bhima belongs wholly to his own, and so our strength seems less. Madhusudana Saraswati first gives the sense beyond measure: ours is eleven akshauhinis under the protection of the discerning Bhishma, theirs is seven under the rash Bhima. Besides, he points to the other meaning as well.
