Ashvatthama is Drona&#8217;s son. Vikarna is one of Duryodhana&#8217;s younger brothers, the one who openly questioned the humiliation of Draupadi in the dice hall. Saumadatti means the son of Somadatta, Bhurishravas. In some versions the last quarter reads saumadattir jayadrathah, which is why Jayadratha&#8217;s name appears in some translations. Besides, the Mahabharata says Karna does not enter the battle while Bhishma is commander.
