The verb dadhmuh, they blew, comes at the end of the next verse. The names Virata, Satyaki and the king of Kashi had already appeared in Duryodhana&#8217;s list. Dhrishtadyumna he had not named at all, calling him only the son of Drupada. Now Sanjaya sets the same names beside their conches. The Mahabharata says that Shikhandi, born a daughter in Drupada&#8217;s house, had been Amba in a previous birth: the princess Bhishma carried off from a svayamvara, whose life was ruined as a result. Besides, Amba was the daughter of a king of Kashi. On the tenth day Arjuna brings Bhishma down with Shikhandi placed in front of him.
