To those who have devotion he is easy to reach; to the ill-minded he is not to be seen at all. For those who have no other recourse he is the lord, and his affection is for those who love him.<\/span><\/li>
Prostrating full length before those lotus feet, over which the crowns of all the worlds are waved like lamps, Shanaishchara with a clear mind made his praise of Nrisimha there.<\/span><\/li>
The dust of whose lotus feet, served with the deepest reverence, destroys the whole heap of wrongdoing and brings good to all who follow him, you, Nrisimha, cast on me a glance of grace.<\/span><\/li>
Lakshmi, restless everywhere else and honoured by Brahma and the rest, serves your two lotus feet alone, steadily and with the deepest reverence, serving no other, you, Nrisimha, cast on me a glance of grace.<\/span><\/li>
The form that the end of the Veda sets forth, that is first of all, that takes away the threefold burning, and that is meditated upon by masters of yoga freed of every fault, you, Nrisimha, cast on me a glance of grace.<\/span><\/li>
At the word of his devotee Prahlada, Hari appeared from the pillar; generous of nature, he laid Hiranyakashipu on his thighs and tore open his belly with his claws, you, Nrisimha, cast on me a glance of grace.<\/span><\/li>
Who guarded his own devotee from fire, from the sea, from being cast off a mountain\u2019s sharp peak, and from serpents with poisoned fangs; the self of all and utterly compassionate, you, Nrisimha, cast on me a glance of grace.<\/span><\/li>
By meditating on that changeless supreme form, masters of yoga lost every attachment to the objects of sense and reached the rest that is beyond destruction, you, Nrisimha, cast on me a glance of grace.<\/span><\/li>
That fierce form, whose nature it is to crush the enemy, takes away every fear of this world when it is meditated upon, and destroys the fear that arises from spirits, from fever and from the planets, you, Nrisimha, cast on me a glance of grace.<\/span><\/li>
Whose high renown Shiva and Brahma and Indra and the gods sing in their assemblies, and which by the mere hearing is able to still every impurity, you, Nrisimha, cast on me a glance of grace.<\/span><\/li>
Having heard this praise composed by Shani, Hari, the god who is fond of his devotees, spoke to Shani as he stood among the assembly of the holy.<\/span><\/li>
Shani, I am pleased with you. Ask for a good boon: ask for what you yourself desire, and for what brings good to all the worlds.<\/span><\/li>
Nrisimha, treasury of compassion, be gracious to me. Lord of the gods, let my day, Saturday, become a day dear to you.<\/span><\/li>
Sustainer of the worlds, for those who hear and those who recite this hymn to you that I have made, fulfil all their desires.<\/span><\/li>
So be it, Shani. Abiding in the world I shall protect, and I shall fulfil the desires of my devotees. Now hear one word of mine too.<\/span><\/li>
Whoever recites and whoever hears this hymn to me that you have made, let there be no fear of you for that person, even when you stand in the twelfth or the eighth house from his birth sign.<\/span><\/li>
Shani answered Narahari, “So be it.” Then the sages, greatly delighted, cried out “Victory”.<\/span><\/li>
Whoever hears with devotion this dialogue of Shanaishchara and the god Nrisimha, and this hymn, and whoever recites it for others to hear, assuredly obtains all that he wishes.<\/span><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n
