Here Shankaracharya and Sridhara Swami both quote the Brihadaranyaka Upanishad: he who departs from this world without knowing the imperishable is a krpana. Shankaracharya takes it as seek that very understanding as your refuge. Ramanujacharya gives sharana the sense of a dwelling place and reads it as make your home in that understanding.
