Every verse ends <em>parabrahmali\u1e45ga\u1e43 bhaje p\u0101\u1e47\u1e0dura\u1e45gam<\/em>: I worship Panduranga, the visible sign of the supreme Brahman. The ninth verse is the phalashruti. The story goes that while Pundalika was busy serving his aged parents, Krishna himself came to his door. Unwilling to leave his service half done, Pundalika tossed a brick (<em>i\u1e63\u1e6dak\u0101<\/em>) towards the Lord for him to stand on and asked him to wait. Tradition says the Lord stood on it with his hands on his hips and waited, and stands so to this day.
