Is there any difference between the sun reflected in the waters of the Ganga and the sun in a puddle in the outcastes&#8217; street? Whoever has this firm understanding, be he an outcaste or be he twice-born, he is my guru. The yogi who ever contemplates it, his mind at peace, is indeed the guru. Having found it in a mind wholly stilled, the sage is fulfilled. Whoever&#8217;s intellect has melted into that ocean of eternal bliss is not merely a knower of Brahman but Brahman itself. Whoever he may be, his feet are worshipped even by the king of the gods. The story says that at Kashi, on his way to the Ganga, Shankara met an outcaste with his dogs, who was Shiva himself with Gauri.
