Every verse closes with parachidambarana\u1e6da\u1e43 h\u1e5bdi bhaja, that is, worship in your heart the dancer of the supreme Chidambara. Whoever recites it reaches that state of Shankara which is praised by lotus-born Brahma, by Indra lord of the quarters, by Hari and the other divine ones. His name appears in verses 1 and 9, and verse 10 points to the author as bhujagapungava, the best of serpents, since tradition identifies Patanjali with Adishesha.
