First he grants that both paths lead to freedom. The yoga of action is called higher here only in comparison with a &#8216;mere&#8217; giving up of action, without knowledge. For Arjuna, grieving because he takes the body to be himself, the yoga of action. Once that has purified the mind and knowledge has arisen, renunciation to ripen it.
