Shankara opens it as one who does good without expecting anything in return. For him the &#8216;me&#8217; here is Narayana, dwelling in every heart, presiding over the fruits of all actions, witness of every cognition. Everyone works gladly to please a friend. If we know that the Lord of all the lords of the worlds is our friend, the yoga of action becomes his worship, and it can be done with joy.
