First statement: you are the highest kinsman of the helpless. Second: among the helpless I stand first. Therefore, third, there is kinship between the two of us. \u2018Kimuta\u2019 means what need be said, it is that plain. There is a quiet humour in it too. Sarani means a path, an accepted way. The poet takes as his ground the ordinary custom that kinship carries duties of its own.
