answer to why the nature of Vishnu should be needed for worship with flowers. Many read it thus: Vishnu is he who pervades everything, so only he has the power to bring and offer every flower that blooms anywhere. Tradition also records that some recall here the account of Vishnu worshipping Shiva with a thousand lotuses and offering his own eye when one lotus fell short.
