This second sense fits well with the familiar picture of the chakravaka pair parted all night and waiting for daybreak. Besides, there is something else in it. Three of the four longings are towards something distant: the cloud has to come, the moon has to rise, the day has to break. That a word of knowledge should settle at the end of a verse of devotion is the way of Shankara\u2019s hymns. One verse holds three forms of address, pashupate, vibho and gaurinatha.
