lang=\"en\">Two words in this verse stand out: &#8216;sa evayam&#8217;, this same one, and &#8216;avashah&#8217;, helplessly. Shankara gives the reason for the first: the very beings of the previous cycle return, not others. At the end of Brahma&#8217;s hundred years, all worlds up to Brahma&#8217;s realm, and Brahma too, dissolve into the Lord in order, earth into water, water into fire, and so on.
