power of the sovereign, or &#8216;prabhavana&#8217;, birth. Since he is the source of the gods and the sages, they cannot know his beginning. Madhva also reads &#8216;prabhava&#8217; as the origin of the world, and says the hint here is that he himself has no birth at all. For this he quotes the Rigveda&#8217;s Nasadiya hymn, &#8216;ko addha veda&#8217;, who truly knows where this creation came from.
