For Shankara &#8216;all the sages&#8217; are Vasishtha and the others, for Sridhara Swami Bhrigu and the others. In Shankara&#8217;s words &#8216;asito devalah&#8217; is a single sage, Asita Devala. Sridhara Swami separates them into two.
