Ramanuja and Sridhara Swami say the epithet &#8216;born of the nectar&#8217; applies to Airavata as well. Shankara explains the name Airavata: the offspring of Iravati. All the acharyas explain this plainly as &#8216;the king&#8217;. The sense, one may say, is that his power should show especially in one who bears the duty of protecting people.
