For him Kamadhenu is Vasishtha&#8217;s cow that yields every wish, or the wish-fulfilling cow in general. For Ramanuja it is the divine Surabhi among the cows that yield the oblation. Ramanuja explains the difference between serpents and nagas: serpents have one hood, and among them is Vasuki. Desire aimed only at pleasure is not sanctioned by scripture, and so it is not a glory. The seventh chapter&#8217;s &#8216;dharmaviruddho bhuteshu kamo &#8216;smi&#8217; (7.11) agrees with this.
