Sridhara Swami gives both. For Shankara &#8216;Rama&#8217; is Rama the son of Dasharatha, and Sridhara Swami also allows that it may be Parashurama. For Sridhara Swami the makara is the great water creature called timingila. Madhva explains the name &#8216;Rama&#8217;: the one whose nature is bliss, who is full, in whom the world delights.
