is the key to the whole list. Wherever excellence is seen, even in something not named in the list, it should be understood as a portion of his splendour. Sridhara Swami says that to Arjuna, who still longs to hear more, Krishna gives everything in a single rule. For Shankara &#8216;shrimat&#8217; is endowed with Lakshmi, &#8216;urjita&#8217; full of vigour. Vishnu and the others in the list, forms such as Rama, Krishna, Vyasa and Kapila, are his own very forms. Deities such as Rudra and Indra, and kings, are other souls endowed with a portion of his splendour. For this he quotes the Paingi Khila. So the acharyas each see the same list through the eye of their own philosophy.
