What was that &#8216;whatever else&#8217; in Arjuna&#8217;s mind? Shankara recalls his doubt from the second chapter: &#8216;yad va jayema yadi va no jayeyuh&#8217; (2.6), whether we shall win or they will. The answer to that question of victory and defeat also appears here. Ramanuja takes &#8216;ekastha&#8217; to mean standing in one part of the body: the whole world in one corner of his body. The &#8216;ekamshena&#8217;, &#8216;with one fraction&#8217;, at the end of the previous chapter becomes visible here.
