Shankara unfolds it like this: the light of a thousand suns might resemble it, and if not, the light of the cosmic form surpasses it. Sridhara Swami says directly: there is no other comparison for it. It is a word that points to the infinite, a comparison used only to convey. For this he quotes a line from the Khila portion of the Rigveda: he is of infinite power, infinite valour and infinite splendour.
