Shankara&#8217;s explanation: father even of Brahma, the grandfather of creatures. Ramanuja unfolds it further: the Prajapatis are the fathers of creatures, Hiranyagarbha their grandfather, and you, the father even of Hiranyagarbha, are their great-grandfather. As the Self of the grandfather and the rest, those words too point to you.
