For this he quotes the famous words of the Katha Upanishad: &#8216;nayam atma pravachanena labhyo na medhaya na bahuna shrutena&#8217;. This Self is not gained by discourse, nor by intellect, nor by much hearing, it is gained by the one whom he chooses.
