Then he experiences the gunas as &#8216;I am happy, I am sad, I am deluded, I am learned&#8217;. Ignorance is the cause of this experience, and attachment to the gunas the cause of births. Sridhara Swami calls this the answer to a question: how can purusha, changeless and unborn, experience at all? So this chain has run on from beginningless time. &#8216;Good and evil wombs&#8217; are the higher births of gods and humans and other births such as those of animals.
