According to Shankara those who cannot know the Self by any of these paths hear from teachers, &#8216;reflect on just this&#8217;, and reflect on it with faith. &#8216;Shrutiparayana&#8217; are those who hold hearing as their highest refuge, who, lacking discernment of their own, walk trusting the teaching of others.
