Shankara recalls the Isha Upanishad&#8217;s &#8216;atmahano janah&#8217;, people who slay the self: the ignorant, not seeing the true Self, &#8216;kill&#8217; it through ignorance, taking the body to be themselves and being born and dying again and again. One who has seen the Lord equal in all does not commit this injury.
