Shankara calls the prakriti here the Lord&#8217;s maya made of the three gunas, and quotes the Shvetashvatara&#8217;s &#8216;mayam tu prakritim vidyat&#8217;. One who sees the self as of the form of knowledge, not a doer in its own nature, understands that its contact with prakriti has come from karma.
