the image of the sun. Sridhara Swami states the difference between the two: space showed that the self is untainted because it is unattached, and the sun shows that, being the illuminer, it is not touched by the qualities of what it illumines. As the illumining sun is other than the world it lights, so the knower is other than the body known.
