humans, the tamasic among cattle and the like. The &#8216;lowest guna&#8217; is tamas and its &#8216;ways&#8217; are sleep, sloth and the rest. The rajasic stay &#8216;in the middle&#8217;, in the very cycle of acting for fruit, enjoying the fruit, being born again and acting again. The tamasic descend to lower births.
