For Shankara, Ramanuja and Sridhara Swami he is the jiva, lord of the body and senses. Ramanuja&#8217;s image is fine: as the wind carries scent with fine particles from garlands, sandal and musk, so the jiva carries the senses with the subtle elements. The one who takes the senses along when the jiva takes on and leaves a body is Ishvara, the Lord himself.
