being &#8216;atma&#8217;, Self, he is other than the insentient perishable, and being &#8216;parama&#8217;, supreme, other than the imperishable too. For Shankara he is &#8216;supreme&#8217; in relation to the selves such as the body imagined through ignorance, and &#8216;Self&#8217; as the inner awareness of all beings.
