Ramanuja makes it clear: a sacrifice performed by those intent on the fruit, with hypocrisy within, whose fruit is fame. It is the exact opposite of &#8216;yashtavyam eva&#8217; in the previous verse: there the act itself is the aim, here the act is a means to fruit or to name.
