two faces of tamasic giving. One is an impure place, a time not known for merit, and unworthy recipients such as fools and thieves. Sridhara Swami gives a time of ritual impurity as an example of &#8216;the wrong time&#8217;. According to Ramanuja the distinctions of sacrifice, austerity and giving by the gunas end here, and next comes their mark through their connection with the words &#8216;Om Tat Sat&#8217;.
