lang=\"en\">From 18.51 to 18.53 is a single sentence, a picture of one who becomes fit for the state of Brahman. According to Sridhara Swami the understanding and steadfastness here are the sattvic understanding and sattvic steadfastness described earlier (18.30, 18.33). Shankara takes &#8216;vishuddha&#8217; as free of maya, that is, without deceit.
