Context and commentary on verse 10.7
‘Vibhuti’ and ‘yoga’, the two key words of this chapter, come together here. For Shankara ‘vibhuti’ is extension. He gives ‘yoga’ two meanings: the skill by which he joins himself to all things, or the sovereign power and omniscience that come from yoga. ‘Unshaken yoga’ for him is the steadiness of right vision.
For Ramanuja ‘vibhuti’ is the sovereignty by which the origin, continuance and activity of all things depend on him, and ‘yoga’ is his auspicious qualities, opposed to every flaw. Knowing these makes devotion grow, and the sense here, he says, is ‘you will see this for yourself’. For Sridhara Swami ‘unshaken’ means free of doubt. Madhva’s comment on this verse is not in our source text.

For life today
The promise of this verse is that the habit of seeing a trace of the Lord in the beauty and strength around us steadies the mind.
A morning sunrise, a child’s smile, the light in the eyes of a patient who has recovered: noticing such moments and giving thanks for them is a simple way to begin living this chapter.
