ಮಳೆ ಇಲ್ಲದ ತಿಂಗಳುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬೀದಿಯ ಗಾಳಿ ಬೀಸಿ ಮನೆಯ ಒಳಗೂ ಧೂಳು ತಂದು ಹಾಕುತ್ತದೆ. ಕಿಟಕಿ ಮುಚ್ಚಿದರೂ ಬಟ್ಟೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಮಣ್ಣು ಕೂರುತ್ತದೆ.
ಗೀತಿ ಛಂದಸ್ಸಿನ ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕ ಅದೇ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ, ಒಳ್ಳೆಯವರ ಮನಸ್ಸು ಕೆಟ್ಟವರ ಸಂಗದಿಂದ ಹೇಗೆ ಮಸುಕಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತದೆ.

ಸುಜನಾನಾಮಪಿ ಹೃದಯಂ ಪಿಶುನಪರಿಷ್ವಂಗಲಿಪ್ತಮಿಹ ಭವತಿ

ಪದಶಃ ಅರ್ಥ
- ಸುಜನಾನಾಮಪಿ (सुजनानामपि, sujanānāmapi) = ಸಜ್ಜನರ ಕೂಡ (even of the good)
- ಹೃದಯಂ (हृदयं, hṛdayaṃ) = ಹೃದಯ (the heart)
- ಪಿಶುನಪರಿಷ್ವಂಗಲಿಪ್ತಮಿಹ (पिशुनपरिष्वङ्गलिप्तमिह, piśunapariṣvaṅgaliptamiha) = ಚಾಡಿಕೋರನ ಆಲಿಂಗನದಿಂದ ಲೇಪಿತವಾದದ್ದು ಇಲ್ಲಿ (smeared here by the embrace of the slanderer)
- ಭವತಿ (भवति, bhavati) = ಆಗುತ್ತದೆ (becomes)
- ಪವನಃ (पवनः, pavanaḥ) = ಗಾಳಿ (the wind)
- ಪರಾಗವಾಹೀ (परागवाही, parāgavāhī) = ಪರಾಗ ಹೊತ್ತುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವ (that carries pollen)
- ರಥ್ಯಾಸು (रथ्यासु, rathyāsu) = ಬೀದಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ (in the streets)
- ವಹನ್ರಜಸ್ವಲೋ (वहन्रजस्वलो, vahanrajasvalo) = ಬೀಸುತ್ತಾ ಧೂಳಿನಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿದ್ದು (blowing, full of dust)
- ಭವತಿ (भवति, bhavati) = ಆಗುತ್ತದೆ (becomes)
ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಅರ್ಥ (ಕನ್ನಡ)
ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಸಜ್ಜನರ ಹೃದಯ ಕೂಡ ಚಾಡಿಕೋರನ ಆಲಿಂಗನದಿಂದ ಲೇಪಿತವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಪರಾಗ ಹೊತ್ತ ಗಾಳಿ ಬೀದಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬೀಸುತ್ತಾ ಧೂಳಿನಿಂದ ತುಂಬುವಂತೆ ಇದು.
ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಅರ್ಥ (ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್)
Here even the hearts of the good become smeared by the embrace of a slanderer, as the wind that carries pollen turns dusty when it blows through the streets.
ಈ ಸುಭಾಷಿತದ ಬಗ್ಗೆAbout this subhashita
ಪರಾಗವಾಹಿ ಗಾಳಿ ಹೂವಿನ ಪರಿಮಳ ಹೊತ್ತು ಬರುತ್ತದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಬೀದಿ ಸೇರಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅದೇ ಗಾಳಿ ಧೂಳನ್ನು ಹೊರುತ್ತದೆ. ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದು ಮತ್ತು ಕೆಟ್ಟದು ಒಂದೇ ಗಾಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇದೆ.
The wind that carries pollen bears flower scent, but once in the street it carries dust. Good and bad are present in the same breeze.
ಪರಿಷ್ವಂಗ ಎಂದರೆ ಅಪ್ಪುಗೆ, ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಹತ್ತಿರದ ಒಡನಾಟದ ಅರ್ಥದಲ್ಲಿ. ಮುಟ್ಟಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅಂಟುವುದು ಎಂಬ ಭಾವವನ್ನೇ ಕವಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
Parishvanga means embrace, here in the sense of close company. The poet speaks of what clings after touch.

ಇಂದಿನ ಬದುಕಿಗೆFor life today
ದಿನವೂ ಗೊಣಗುವ ಸಹೋದ್ಯೋಗಿಗಳ ನಡುವೆ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಮಾತಿನ ಸ್ವರವೂ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಬದಲಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಅದು ಗಮನಕ್ಕೆ ಬರುವ ಹೊತ್ತಿಗೆ ರೂಢಿ ಆಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ.
Working daily among those who grumble changes the tone of our own talk a little. By the time we notice, it has become a habit.
ಧೂಳು ಒರೆಸಬಹುದು ಎಂಬುದೂ ಈ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ಮಸುಕಾದ ಮನಸ್ಸನ್ನು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಸಂಗದಿಂದ ಮತ್ತೆ ತಿಳಿಗೊಳಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬಹುದು.
The picture also holds that dust can be wiped off. A clouded mind can be cleared again in good company.
