- ತತ್ ಯೋಗೈಃ ಅಪಿ ಗಮ್ಯತೇ (तत् योगैः अपि गम्यते, tat yogaiḥ api gamyate) = ಅದನ್ನು ಯೋಗಿಗಳೂ ಸೇರುತ್ತಾರೆ (is reached by the yogis too)
- ಸಾಂಖ್ಯಮ್ ಚ ಯೋಗಮ್ ಚ ಏಕಮ್ (साङ्ख्यम् च योगम् च एकम्, sāṅkhyam ca yogam ca ekam) = ಸಾಂಖ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಯೋಗ ಒಂದೇ ಎಂದು (sankhya and yoga as one)

The state reached by those who follow the path of knowledge is reached by the yogis of action too. He who sees sankhya and yoga as one truly sees.
Context and commentary on verse 5.5
This makes the point of the last verse plainer. Since the goal is one, it is a mistake to see the two paths as enemies. The phrase ‘he who sees truly sees’ returns in the thirteenth chapter too. It carries the subtle point that not all looking is seeing.
For Shankara the yogis of action do not reach this state directly. Action offered to the Lord without seeking its fruit brings them to true knowledge and renunciation, and through that to liberation. That is why the yoga of action is also called ‘renunciation’ in a secondary sense, he says.
For Ramanuja the state here is the vision of the self, seeing one’s own self as it truly is. Since both paths give just that, they are alternatives to each other. Madhva sees this verse as unfolding the last verse’s ‘even one of them’: the yogis too gain the fruit of knowledge through knowledge.
Sridhara Swami adds a small grammatical note. ‘Yogaih’ here does not mean ‘by the yogas’ but ‘by those who have yoga’, that is, by the yogis of action.

For life today
Climbers going up one hill from different sides may, halfway, look across and think the others are heading the wrong way. Only someone at the top can see that both paths arrive at the same place.
The time we spend arguing over whose path is purer could be used to take one more step on our own. Perhaps that is what seeing means.
