ಅಕಲಿತಶಬ್ದಾಲಂಕೃತಿಃ: ಅಲಂಕಾರವಿಲ್ಲದೆಯೂ ಮನಸೆಳೆಯುವ ಸೂಕ್ತಿ

ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಪದ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಅನುಪ್ರಾಸ, ಯಮಕಗಳ ಅಲಂಕಾರ ಬೇಕೇ? ಈ ಸುಭಾಷಿತದ ಉತ್ತರ, ಅಷ್ಟೇನೂ ಬೇಕಿಲ್ಲ.

ಆ ಉತ್ತರವನ್ನು ಅದು ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತ ಕಾವ್ಯಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದ ಪರಿಚಿತ ನಾಯಿಕೆಯೊಬ್ಬಳ ಹೋಲಿಕೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ, ಪ್ರತಿ ವಿಶೇಷಣಕ್ಕೂ ಎರಡು ಅರ್ಥ ಬರುವಂತೆ ಕಟ್ಟಿದೆ.

ಪದಶಃ ಅರ್ಥ

ಅಕಲಿತಶಬ್ದಾಲಂಕೃತಿಃ (अकलितशब्दालंकृतिः, akalitaśabdālaṃkṛtiḥ) = ಶಬ್ದಾಲಂಕಾರಗಳನ್ನು ಜೋಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳದ, ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಅರ್ಥದಲ್ಲಿ ಸದ್ದು ಮಾಡುವ ಆಭರಣ ತೊಡದ (without ornaments of sound; not wearing jingling jewellery)
ಅನುಕೂಲಾ (अनुकूला, anukūlā) = ಮನಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ಹೊಂದುವ (agreeable)
ಸ್ಖಲಿತಪದನಿವೇಶಾ (स्खलितपदनिवेशा, skhalitapadaniveśā) = ತೊಡರುವ ಪದಜೋಡಣೆಯುಳ್ಳ, ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಅರ್ಥದಲ್ಲಿ ತಡವರಿಸುವ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆಗಳುಳ್ಳ (with halting word order; with faltering steps)

ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಅರ್ಥ (ಕನ್ನಡ)

ಶಬ್ದಾಲಂಕಾರಗಳಿಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೂ, ಪದಜೋಡಣೆ ಅಲ್ಲಲ್ಲಿ ತೊಡರಿದರೂ, ಮನಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ಹೊಂದುವ ಮತ್ತು ಉತ್ಕೃಷ್ಟ ರಸದಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿರುವ ಸೂಕ್ತಿ ಅಭಿಸಾರಿಕೆಯಂತೆ ಮನಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ಆನಂದ ಕೊಡುತ್ತದೆ.

ಅಭಿಸಾರಿಕೆಯ ಪಕ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ: ಕತ್ತಲಲ್ಲಿ ಸದ್ದಾಗಬಾರದೆಂದು ಗೆಜ್ಜೆ, ಬಳೆಗಳನ್ನು ತೊಡದೆ, ಪ್ರಿಯನ ಮನಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ಹೊಂದಿಕೊಂಡು, ತಡವರಿಸುವ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆಗಳಿಂದ ಹೋಗುವ ಪ್ರೇಮಪೂರ್ಣ ನಾಯಿಕೆ.

ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಅರ್ಥ (ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್)

Even without ornaments of sound, and even if its words stumble here and there, a fine saying that is agreeable and rich in heightened rasa delights like an abhisarika.

On the side of the abhisarika: a heroine full of love who goes to her beloved without anklets or bangles lest they make a sound in the dark, attuned to his heart, with faltering steps.

ಈ ಸುಭಾಷಿತದ ಬಗ್ಗೆAbout this subhashita

ಇಡೀ ಪದ್ಯವೇ ಶ್ಲೇಷ. ಸುಭಾಷಿತರತ್ನಭಾಂಡಾಗಾರದ ಅಡಿಟಿಪ್ಪಣಿಗಳು ಪ್ರತಿ ವಿಶೇಷಣಕ್ಕೂ ಎರಡು ಅರ್ಥಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಡಿಸಿ ಕೊಡುತ್ತವೆ. ಉದಾಹರಣೆಗೆ ಅಕಲಿತಶಬ್ದಾಲಂಕೃತಿ ಎಂದರೆ ಕಾವ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅನುಪ್ರಾಸ ಮೊದಲಾದ ಶಬ್ದಾಲಂಕಾರಗಳಿಲ್ಲದ್ದು. ನಾಯಿಕೆಯ ಪಕ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ, ತನ್ನ ಸುಳಿವು ಸಿಗಬಾರದೆಂದು ಸದ್ದು ಮಾಡುವ ಆಭರಣಗಳನ್ನು ತೊಡದವಳು.

The whole verse is a pun. The footnotes in the Subhashitaratnabhandagara unpack two senses for each epithet. For example, akalitashabdalankriti means, for poetry, free of sound figures such as alliteration, and for the heroine, one who wears no jingling ornaments so as not to be found out.

ಸ್ಖಲಿತಪದನಿವೇಶಾ ಎಂಬುದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಡಿಟಿಪ್ಪಣಿ ಕೂಟಪದಗಳ ಜೋಡಣೆ ಇರುವುದು ಎಂದೂ, ನಾಯಿಕೆಯ ಪಕ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಸರಿಯಾದ ಜಾಗ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಬೇರೆಡೆ ಬೀಳುವ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆಗಳುಳ್ಳವಳು ಎಂದೂ ಅರ್ಥ ಕೊಡುತ್ತದೆ.

For skhalitapadanivesha the footnote gives the arrangement of intricate words, and for the heroine, one whose steps land off their mark.

ಅಭಿಸಾರಿಕೆ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತ ನಾಟ್ಯಶಾಸ್ತ್ರ ಮತ್ತು ಕಾವ್ಯಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದ ಎಂಟು ಬಗೆಯ ನಾಯಿಕೆಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬಳು. ಈ ಪದ್ಯ ಶೃಂಗಾರದ ಚಿತ್ರವನ್ನು ಬಳಸಿ ಕಾವ್ಯದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತದೆ.

The abhisarika is one of the eight types of heroine in Sanskrit dramaturgy and poetics. This verse uses an image of love to talk about poetry.

ಇಂದಿನ ಬದುಕಿಗೆFor life today

ಮಾತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅಲಂಕಾರದ ಹೊಳಪಿಗಿಂತ ಭಾವದ ಸತ್ಯ ಕೇಳುವವರನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ತಲುಪುತ್ತದೆ. ಅಳುಕುತ್ತ, ತಡವರಿಸುತ್ತ ಹೇಳಿದ ಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕ ಮಾತು ನಯವಾದ ಭಾಷಣಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಕಾಲ ನೆನಪಿನಲ್ಲಿರುತ್ತದೆ.

In speech, true feeling reaches further than polished ornament. An honest word said hesitantly, stumbling a little, stays in memory longer than a smooth speech.

ರೋಗಿಗೆ ಕೆಟ್ಟ ಸುದ್ದಿ ಹೇಳುವಾಗ ವೈದ್ಯನ ಮಾತು ಸುಂದರವಾಗಿರಬೇಕಿಲ್ಲ. ಅದು ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗಿ, ಕರುಣೆಯಿಂದ ಇದ್ದರೆ ಸಾಕು.

When breaking bad news to a patient, a doctor’s words need not be beautiful. It is enough that they are clear and kind.
