ಆಚರಿಸುವ ರೀತಿ
ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನದ ವೇಳೆಗೆ ಅಭಿಷೇಕ, ಹೊಸ ಬಟ್ಟೆ, ಹೂವು ಮತ್ತು ನೈವೇದ್ಯಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ರಾಧೆಯ ಜನ್ಮೋತ್ಸವವನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ; ಅನೇಕ ಭಕ್ತರು ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನದವರೆಗೆ ಉಪವಾಸವಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಬರ್ಸಾನಾದ ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಮೇಲಿರುವ ಶ್ರೀಜೀ ಮಂದಿರದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಬೃಂದಾವನದ ದೇವಾಲಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅದ್ದೂರಿಯಾಗಿ ಆಚರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಗೌಡೀಯ, ಪುಷ್ಟಿಮಾರ್ಗ ಮತ್ತು ನಿಂಬಾರ್ಕ ವೈಷ್ಣವರಿಗೆ ಇದು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು.
ಕಥೆ
ವೃಷಭಾನು ಮತ್ತು ಕೀರ್ತಿದೆಯರ ಮಗಳಾಗಿ (ಒಂದು ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಂತೆ ರಾವಲ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ) ಜನಿಸಿದ ರಾಧೆ ಬೆಳೆದದ್ದು ಬರ್ಸಾನಾದಲ್ಲಿ. ವ್ರಜಭೂಮಿಯ ವೈಷ್ಣವ ಪರಂಪರೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಆಕೆ ಕೃಷ್ಣನ ಪರಮಪ್ರಿಯೆ, ಭಕ್ತಿಯ ಸಾಕಾರ ರೂಪ; ಶ್ರೀಕೃಷ್ಣನನ್ನು ಆಕೆಯ ಜೊತೆಗೇ ರಾಧಾಕೃಷ್ಣನಾಗಿ ಆರಾಧಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಜನ್ಮಾಷ್ಟಮಿಯ ಹದಿನೈದು ದಿನಗಳ ನಂತರ, ಭಾದ್ರಪದ ಶುಕ್ಲ ಅಷ್ಟಮಿಯಂದು ಈ ದಿನ ಬರುತ್ತದೆ.
ಅನುದಿನ ಕೊಡುವ ದಿನ
ಭಾದ್ರಪದ ಮಾಸದ ಶುಕ್ಲ ಪಕ್ಷದ ಎಂಟನೆಯ ತಿಥಿಯಾದ ಭಾದ್ರಪದ ಶುಕ್ಲ ಅಷ್ಟಮಿಯು ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನದ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವ ದಿನವನ್ನು ಅನುದಿನ ಆ್ಯಪ್ ನೀಡುತ್ತದೆ.
ಇದು ಉತ್ತರ ಭಾರತದ ಆಚರಣೆ. ಅನುದಿನ ಇದನ್ನು ಉತ್ತರ ಭಾರತದ ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯದಲ್ಲಿ ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ; ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಭಾರತದ ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯದಲ್ಲಿ ‘ಇತರ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳ ಹಬ್ಬಗಳನ್ನೂ ತೋರಿಸಿ’ ಎಂಬ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯನ್ನು ಆನ್ ಮಾಡಿದಾಗ ಮಾತ್ರ ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಗೌಡೀಯ (ಇಸ್ಕಾನ್) ಅಥವಾ ಪುಷ್ಟಿಮಾರ್ಗ (ವಲ್ಲಭ) ಪರಂಪರೆಯನ್ನು ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡ ಓದುಗರು ಎಲ್ಲೇ ಇದ್ದರೂ ಅವರಿಗೂ ಈ ದಿನ ಕಾಣುತ್ತದೆ.

Radha’s birth is celebrated at midday with an abhisheka, new clothes, flowers and food offerings, and many fast until noon. The great celebration is at Barsana, at the Shriji temple on the hill, and in the temples of Vrindavan. Gaudiya, Pushtimarga and Nimbarka Vaishnavas keep the day as one of their most important.
The story
Radha was born to Vrishabhanu and Kirtida, at Rawal by one tradition, and grew up at Barsana. For the Vaishnava traditions of Braj she is Krishna’s dearest, the very form of devotion, and Krishna is worshipped with her as Radha Krishna. The day comes fifteen days after Krishna Janmashtami, on the eighth of bright Bhadrapada.
Which day Anudina gives
Anudina gives the day on which Bhadrapada shukla ashtami, the eighth tithi of the bright fortnight of Bhadrapada, is running at midday.
It is a North Indian observance. Anudina shows it under the North Indian custom, and under the South Indian custom only when “Show festivals of other regions too” is turned on. A reader who ticks the Gaudiya (ISKCON) or Pushtimarga (Vallabha) lineage in the Tradition sheet sees it too, wherever they are.
