ಬಹುನಿಷ್ಕಪಟದ್ರೋಹೀ: ಇಲಿಯಂತೆ ದೂಷಕ

ಮನೆಯ ಕಣಜದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಟ್ಟ ಧಾನ್ಯ ಒಂದು ದಿನ ಕಡಿಮೆಯಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋಯಿತು ಎಂದು ಹುಡುಕಿದರೆ ಮೂಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಚಿಕ್ಕ ರಂಧ್ರ ಸಿಗುತ್ತದೆ.

ಆ ರಂಧ್ರ ಹುಡುಕುವ ಇಲಿಯನ್ನು ಈ ಅನುಷ್ಟುಪ್ ಶ್ಲೋಕ ಇನ್ನೊಬ್ಬರ ತಪ್ಪು ಹುಡುಕುವವನಿಗೆ ಹೋಲಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ದೂಷಕ ಮತ್ತು ಮೂಷಕ ಎಂಬ ಎರಡು ಪದಗಳ ಪ್ರಾಸವೇ ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಚಮತ್ಕಾರ.

ಪದಶಃ ಅರ್ಥ

ಬಹುನಿಷ್ಕಪಟದ್ರೋಹೀ (बहुनिष्कपटद्रोही, bahuniṣkapaṭadrohī) = ಕಪಟವಿಲ್ಲದ ಅನೇಕರಿಗೆ ದ್ರೋಹ ಮಾಡುವವನು (one who wrongs many who are guileless)
ಬಹುಧಾನ್ಯೋಪಘಾತಕಃ (बहुधान्योपघातकः, bahudhānyopaghātakaḥ) = ಬಹಳ ಧಾನ್ಯವನ್ನು ಹಾಳು ಮಾಡುವವನು (the spoiler of much grain)
ರಂಧ್ರಾನ್ವೇಷೀ (रन्ध्रान्वेषी, randhrānveṣī) = ರಂಧ್ರ ಅಥವಾ ದೋಷ ಹುಡುಕುವವನು (the seeker of holes or flaws)
ಚ (च, ca) = ಮತ್ತು (and)
ಸರ್ವತ್ರ (सर्वत्र, sarvatra) = ಎಲ್ಲೆಡೆ (everywhere)
ದೂಷಕೋ (दूषको, dūṣako) = ದೂಷಿಸುವವನು (the one who finds fault)
ಮೂಷಕೋ (मूषको, mūṣako) = ಇಲಿ (the mouse)
ಯಥಾ (यथा, yathā) = ಹಾಗೆ (just as)

ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಅರ್ಥ (ಕನ್ನಡ)

ದೂಷಕನು ಇಲಿಯಂತೆ. ಅವನು ಕಪಟವಿಲ್ಲದ ಅನೇಕರಿಗೆ ದ್ರೋಹ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಬಹಳ ಧಾನ್ಯವನ್ನು ಹಾಳು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಎಲ್ಲೆಡೆ ರಂಧ್ರವನ್ನೇ ಹುಡುಕುತ್ತಾನೆ.

ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಅರ್ಥ (ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್)

The fault-finder is like a mouse. He wrongs many who mean no harm, ruins a great deal of grain, and looks for a hole everywhere he goes.

ಈ ಸುಭಾಷಿತದ ಬಗ್ಗೆAbout this subhashita

ದೂಷಕ ಎಂದರೆ ದೋಷ ಹೇಳುವವನು, ಮೂಷಕ ಎಂದರೆ ಇಲಿ. ಒಂದೇ ಅಕ್ಷರದ ವ್ಯತ್ಯಾಸದ ಪದಗಳನ್ನು ಹತ್ತಿರ ಇಟ್ಟು ಕವಿ ಹೋಲಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ನೆನಪಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಉಳಿಯುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ.

Dushaka is one who points out faults and mushaka is a mouse. By placing two words a single letter apart, the poet makes the comparison easy to remember.

ರಂಧ್ರ ಎಂದರೆ ಬಿಲ ಮತ್ತು ಕುಂದು ಎರಡೂ. ಇಲಿ ಬಿಲ ಹುಡುಕುತ್ತದೆ, ದೂಷಕ ಕುಂದು ಹುಡುಕುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಕಣಜದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಬಿಲ ಸಾಕು, ಅವನಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ಕುಂದು ಸಾಕು.

Randhra means both a hole and a flaw. The mouse looks for the hole and the critic for the flaw. A granary needs only one hole, and he needs only one flaw.

ಇಂದಿನ ಬದುಕಿಗೆFor life today

ಯಾವ ತಂಡದಲ್ಲೂ ತಪ್ಪು ಹುಡುಕುವ ಒಬ್ಬರು ಇರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಅವರ ಮಾತಿನ ಉದ್ದೇಶ ಸುಧಾರಣೆಯೋ ಅಥವಾ ತಪ್ಪು ಹುಡುಕುವುದೇ ಉದ್ದೇಶವೋ ಎಂದು ನೋಡುವುದು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದು.

Every team has someone who looks for what is wrong. It helps to ask whether the aim is to improve things or only to find fault.

ಇಲಿಯನ್ನು ಓಡಿಸುವ ಮೊದಲು ಬಿಲ ಮುಚ್ಚಬೇಕು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನಮ್ಮ ಕೆಲಸದ ನಿಜವಾದ ಕುಂದುಗಳನ್ನು ನಾವೇ ಮೊದಲು ಸರಿಪಡಿಸಿದರೆ ದೂಷಕನಿಗೆ ಹುಡುಕಲು ಕಡಿಮೆ ಉಳಿಯುತ್ತದೆ.

Before chasing the mouse, one closes the hole. In the same way, if we mend the real flaws in our own work first, the critic has less left to find.
