ಕಂಚಿ ಕಾಮಕೋಟಿ ಪೀಠದ 68ನೇ ಆಚಾರ್ಯರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಚಂದ್ರಶೇಖರೇಂದ್ರ ಸರಸ್ವತಿ, ಅಂದರೆ ಮಹಾಪೆರಿಯವರ ಜನ್ಮದಿನವೇ ಕಂಚಿ ಮಹಾಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಜಯಂತಿ. ಇದನ್ನು ತಮಿಳು ವೈಕಾಸಿ ತಿಂಗಳಿನ ಅನುರಾಧಾ ನಕ್ಷತ್ರದಂದು ಆಚರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
ಆಚರಿಸುವ ರೀತಿ
ಕಂಚಿ ಕಾಮಕೋಟಿ ಪೀಠದಲ್ಲಿ ಮತ್ತು ಭಕ್ತರ ಮನೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ದಿನವನ್ನು ವೇದ ಪಾರಾಯಣ, ಭಜನೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಅವರ ಬೋಧನೆಗಳ ಪಠಣದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಆಚರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಅನೇಕ ಭಕ್ತರು ಅವರ ನೆನಪಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿ ತಿಂಗಳ ಅನುಷಂ (ಅನುರಾಧಾ) ನಕ್ಷತ್ರದ ದಿನವನ್ನೂ ಆಚರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ; ಇವುಗಳಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲ ಈ ಜಯಂತಿಯೇ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ದೊಡ್ಡ ದಿನ.
ಕಥೆ
ಕಂಚಿ ಕಾಮಕೋಟಿ ಪೀಠದ 68ನೇ ಆಚಾರ್ಯರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಚಂದ್ರಶೇಖರೇಂದ್ರ ಸರಸ್ವತಿಯವರು 1894ರಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಲ್ಲುಪುರಂನಲ್ಲಿ, ವೈಕಾಸಿ ತಿಂಗಳ ಅನುಷಂ ನಕ್ಷತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಜನಿಸಿದರು. ಕೇವಲ 13 ವರ್ಷದ ಬಾಲಕರಾಗಿದ್ದಾಗಲೇ ಪೀಠದ ಆಚಾರ್ಯರಾದರು. ಮಹಾಪೆರಿಯವರು ಎಂದೇ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧರಾದ ಇವರು, ಕಾಲ್ನಡಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲೇ ಭಾರತವನ್ನೆಲ್ಲ ಸುತ್ತಿ, ಸರಳ ಮಾತುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಧರ್ಮವನ್ನು ಬೋಧಿಸಿ, 1994ರವರೆಗೆ ನೂರು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ತುಂಬು ಜೀವನ ನಡೆಸಿದರು.
ಅನುದಿನ ಕೊಡುವ ದಿನ
ತಮಿಳು ಸೌರಮಾನ ವೈಕಾಸಿ ತಿಂಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸೂರ್ಯೋದಯದ ವೇಳೆಗೆ ಅನುರಾಧಾ ನಕ್ಷತ್ರವಿರುವ ದಿನವನ್ನು ಅನುದಿನ ಆ್ಯಪ್ ನೀಡುತ್ತದೆ. 1894ಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಹಿಂದಿನ ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಗೆ ಅನುದಿನ ಯಾವುದೇ ದಿನವನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಮಾರ್ತ ಪರಂಪರೆಯನ್ನು ಆಯ್ದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಓದುಗರಿಗೆ, ಅವರು ಎಲ್ಲೇ ಇದ್ದರೂ ಅನುದಿನ ಇದನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಹಬ್ಬಗಳು ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಕಾಣಿಸುತ್ತವೆ; ಪರಂಪರೆಯ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯು ಹೆಚ್ಚುವರಿ ದಿನಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾತ್ರ ಸೇರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.

How it is kept
At the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham and in the homes of devotees the day is kept with Veda parayana, bhajans and the reading of his teachings. Many devotees also keep the Anusham star of every month in his memory, and the Jayanti is the largest of these days.
The story
Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswati, the sixty eighth acharya of the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham, was born in 1894 at Villupuram, on Anusham in Vaikasi, and became the acharya as a boy of thirteen. Known as the Mahaperiyava, he walked across India, taught the dharma in plain words and lived to a hundred, until 1994.
Which day Anudina gives
Anudina gives the day on which Anuradha is the star at sunrise in the Tamil solar month of Vaikasi. Anudina shows no day for years before 1894.
