Look at the power of the good man and of the fan. At every time, by mere contact, each takes away the heat of everyone, and keeps nothing back for itself.
About this subhashita
The word tapa means both the heat of summer and the distress of the mind. The fan removes the first, and the good person can remove both. That is the quiet point inside the comparison.
Sparshanayoga means coming near and touching. A fan must be near to give air, and the hint is that the good person too does not preach from a distance.

For life today
In a clinic, the calm of a doctor who sits close for a minute with a frightened patient arrives before the medicine does. Coming near is half the treatment there.
A fan too wears out as it turns. That those who take away others’ heat need rest of their own does not go against the verse.
