ಶ್ರೀರಂಗಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಬಳಿಯ ಗಂಜಾಂನ ನಿಮಿಷಾಂಬಾ ದೇವಿಯ ಜನ್ಮದಿನದ ಹಬ್ಬವೇ ನಿಮಿಷಾಂಬಾ ಜಯಂತಿ. ಇದನ್ನು ವಾಸವಾಂಬಾ ಜಯಂತಿಯ ದಿನವಾದ ವೈಶಾಖ ಶುಕ್ಲ ದಶಮಿಯಂದು ಆಚರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
ಆಚರಿಸುವ ರೀತಿ
ಕಾವೇರಿ ದಂಡೆಯ ಮೇಲಿರುವ ಶ್ರೀರಂಗಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಬಳಿಯ ಗಂಜಾಂ ನಿಮಿಷಾಂಬಾ ದೇವಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವಿಗೆ ಅಭಿಷೇಕ, ವಿಶೇಷ ಅಲಂಕಾರ ಮತ್ತು ಕುಂಕುಮಾರ್ಚನೆ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತವೆ; ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಹೋಮ ಮತ್ತು ಅನ್ನದಾನಗಳಿರುತ್ತವೆ. ಈ ದೇವಾಲಯ ಸ್ಥಾಪನೆಯ ಐತಿಹ್ಯದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಬೆಸೆದುಕೊಂಡಿರುವ ಸೋಮವಂಶ ಆರ್ಯ ಕ್ಷತ್ರಿಯ ಸಮುದಾಯದವರು ದೇವಿಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ವಿಶೇಷ ಭಕ್ತಿ ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಭಕ್ತರ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಗೆ ಆಕೆ ಒಂದು ನಿಮಿಷದಲ್ಲಿ, ಅಂದರೆ ಕ್ಷಣಮಾತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಲಿಯುತ್ತಾಳೆ ಎಂಬ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಿಂದಲೇ ಆಕೆಗೆ ಈ ಹೆಸರು ಬಂದಿದೆ.
ಕಥೆ
ದೇವಾಲಯದ ಕಥೆಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ಸೋಮವಂಶದ ಮುಕ್ತರಾಜನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಯಜ್ಞದ ಮೇಲೆ ರಾಕ್ಷಸರು ದಾಳಿ ಮಾಡಿದಾಗ, ಯಜ್ಞಕುಂಡದಿಂದ ಪಾರ್ವತಿ ದೇವಿ ಪ್ರತ್ಯಕ್ಷಳಾಗಿ ಕ್ಷಣಮಾತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸಂಹರಿಸಿದಳು; ನಂತರ ರಾಜನ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯಂತೆ ನಿಮಿಷಾಂಬೆಯಾಗಿ ಅಲ್ಲೇ ನೆಲೆಸಿದಳು. ರಾಜನು ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಾಪಿಸಿದನೆಂದು ಹೇಳುವ ಮೌಕ್ತಿಕೇಶ್ವರ ಎಂಬ ಶಿವಲಿಂಗದ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲೇ ದೇವಿಯನ್ನೂ ಪೂಜಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
ಅನುದಿನ ಕೊಡುವ ದಿನ
ವೈಶಾಖ ಮಾಸದ ಶುಕ್ಲ ಪಕ್ಷದ ಹತ್ತನೆಯ ತಿಥಿಯಾದ ವೈಶಾಖ ಶುಕ್ಲ ದಶಮಿಯು ಸೂರ್ಯೋದಯದ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವ ದಿನವನ್ನು ಅನುದಿನ ಆ್ಯಪ್ ನೀಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಇದು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಆಚರಣೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದು, ವಾಸವಾಂಬಾ ಜಯಂತಿಯ ದಿನವೇ ಬರುತ್ತದೆ.
ಇದು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಆಚರಣೆ. ಅನುದಿನ ಇದನ್ನು ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಭಾರತದ ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯದಲ್ಲಿ ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ; ಉತ್ತರ ಭಾರತದ ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯದಲ್ಲಿ ‘ಇತರ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳ ಹಬ್ಬಗಳನ್ನೂ ತೋರಿಸಿ’ ಎಂಬ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯನ್ನು ಆನ್ ಮಾಡಿದಾಗ ಮಾತ್ರ ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
ಈ ನಿಯಮವನ್ನು 2022ರ ಮೇ 11, 2023ರ ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ 30, 2024ರ ಮೇ 18, 2025ರ ಮೇ 7 ಮತ್ತು 2026ರ ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ 26ರ (ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ವಿಜಯಾಲೂರು ಪಂಚಾಂಗ; 2026ಕ್ಕೆ HinduPad) ಹಾಗೂ 2027ರ ಮೇ 15ರ (ಒಂಟಿಕೊಪ್ಪಲ್ ಪಂಚಾಂಗ) ದಿನಾಂಕಗಳ ಜೊತೆ ತಾಳೆ ನೋಡಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ಇವೆಲ್ಲ ಪಂಚಾಂಗದ ದಿನಾಂಕಗಳು. ದೇವಾಲಯದಿಂದಲೇ ಪ್ರಕಟವಾದ ಯಾವುದೇ ದಿನಾಂಕದ ವರದಿ ಸಿಗಲಿಲ್ಲ.

Nimishamba Jayanti is the birthday festival of the goddess Nimishamba of Ganjam, near Srirangapatna, kept on the tenth day of bright Vaishakha, the day of Vasavamba Jayanti.
How it is kept
At the Nimishamba temple at Ganjam, near Srirangapatna on the bank of the Kaveri, the goddess receives abhisheka, special alankara and kumkumarchane, with homa and annadana. The Somavamsha Arya Kshatriya community, linked to the temple’s founding story, holds her in special regard. Devotees believe she answers a prayer in a nimisha, a moment, which gives her the name.
The story
The temple’s story tells of Muktaraja of the Somavamsha line, whose sacrifice was attacked by demons. Parvati rose from the sacrificial fire, destroyed them in a moment, and at the king’s prayer stayed on at the spot as Nimishamba. She is worshipped together with Mouktikeshwara, the Shiva linga said to have been installed by the king.
Which day Anudina gives
Anudina gives the day on which Vaishakha shukla dashami, the tenth tithi of the bright fortnight of Vaishakha, is running at sunrise. It is a Karnataka observance, kept on the same day as Vasavamba Jayanti.

The rule was compared with 11 May 2022, 30 April 2023, 18 May 2024, 7 May 2025 and 26 April 2026 (the Vijayalur panchanga of Bengaluru; HinduPad for 2026) and 15 May 2027 (the Ontikoppal panchanga). These are almanac dates. No dated report from the temple itself was found.
