ವಾರಕರಿ ಸಂತ ತುಕಾರಾಮರು ವೈಕುಂಠಕ್ಕೆ ತೆರಳಿದರು ಎಂದು ನೆನೆಯುವ ದಿನವೇ ತುಕಾರಾಮ ಬೀಜ. ಇದನ್ನು ಫಾಲ್ಗುಣ ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಬಿದಿಗೆಯಂದು ದೇಹೂವಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಆಚರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
ಆಚರಿಸುವ ರೀತಿ
ಪುಣೆಯ ಸಮೀಪದ ದೇಹೂವಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಫಾಲ್ಗುಣ ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಬಿದಿಗೆಯ ದಿನ ಲಕ್ಷಾಂತರ ವಾರಕರಿಗಳು ಸೇರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಇಡೀ ದಿನ ಕೀರ್ತನೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ತುಕಾರಾಮರ ಅಭಂಗಗಳ ಗಾಯನ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತದೆ. ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನದ ಹೊತ್ತಿಗೆ ಅವರು ವೈಕುಂಠಕ್ಕೆ ತೆರಳಿದ ಆ ಕ್ಷಣವನ್ನು ಭಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ನೆನೆಯುತ್ತಾರೆ.
ಕಥೆ
ದೇಹೂವಿನಲ್ಲಿ ದಿನಸಿ ಅಂಗಡಿ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಸಂತ ತುಕಾರಾಮರು, ಪಂಢರಪುರದ ವಿಠ್ಠಲನ ಮೇಲೆ ಸಾವಿರಾರು ಅಭಂಗಗಳನ್ನು ರಚಿಸಿ ಹಾಡಿದರು. ಇಂದಿಗೂ ವಾರಕರಿಗಳ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಕೀರ್ತನೆಯಲ್ಲೂ ಈ ಅಭಂಗಗಳು ಮೊಳಗುತ್ತವೆ. ಪರಂಪರೆಯ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, 1650ರಲ್ಲಿ ಇದೇ ದಿನ ಅವರು ಮರಣ ಹೊಂದದೆ ತಮ್ಮದೇ ಶರೀರದೊಂದಿಗೆ ವೈಕುಂಠಕ್ಕೆ ತೆರಳಿದರು. ಈ ದಿನವನ್ನು ಅವರ ವೈಕುಂಠ ಗಮನ ಎಂದೇ ಆಚರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
ಅನುದಿನ ಕೊಡುವ ದಿನ
ಅಮಾಂತ ಪದ್ಧತಿಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಫಾಲ್ಗುಣ ಮಾಸದ ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಪಕ್ಷದ ಬಿದಿಗೆ ತಿಥಿಯು ಸೂರ್ಯೋದಯಕ್ಕೆ ಇರುವ ದಿನವನ್ನು ಅನುದಿನ ಆ್ಯಪ್ ನೀಡುತ್ತದೆ. 1650ಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಹಿಂದಿನ ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಗೆ ಅನುದಿನ ಯಾವುದೇ ದಿನವನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯದಲ್ಲಿ ವಾರಕರಿ ಪರಂಪರೆಯನ್ನು ಆಯ್ದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಓದುಗರಿಗೆ, ಅವರು ಎಲ್ಲೇ ಇದ್ದರೂ ಅನುದಿನ ಈ ದಿನವನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಹಬ್ಬಗಳು ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಸದಾ ಕಾಣುತ್ತವೆ; ಪರಂಪರೆಯನ್ನು ಆಯ್ದುಕೊಂಡಾಗ ಹೆಚ್ಚುವರಿ ದಿನಗಳು ಸೇರಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತವೆ.

How it is kept
At Dehu, near Pune, lakhs of Varkaris gather on the second day of dark Phalguna. Kirtans and the singing of Tukaram’s abhangas go on through the day, and at noon the moment of his departure is remembered.
The story
Sant Tukaram, the grocer of Dehu, sang thousands of abhangas to Vitthala of Pandharpur that are still sung in every Varkari kirtan. The tradition holds that in 1650, on this day, he did not die but went to Vaikuntha in his own body, and the day is kept as his Vaikuntha gaman.
Which day Anudina gives
Anudina gives the day on which the second tithi of the dark fortnight is running at sunrise, in the month that is Phalguna by the amanta count. Anudina shows no day for years before 1650.
Anudina shows it to readers who tick the Varkari lineage in the Tradition sheet, wherever they are. The general festivals are always shown; a lineage only adds days.
