ರಾಮರಕ್ಷಾ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರ ಪೂರ್ತಿ ಬಾರದವರಿಗೂ ಈ ಎರಡು ಶ್ಲೋಕಗಳು ಬಾಯಿಗೆ ಬರುತ್ತವೆ. ಒಂದು ರಾಮನ ಹೆಸರುಗಳ ಮಾಲೆ, ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಆಪತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕೇಳುವ ಆಸರೆ.
ರಾಮ, ರಾಮಭದ್ರ, ರಾಮಚಂದ್ರ, ವೇಧಸ್, ರಘುನಾಥ, ನಾಥ, ಸೀತಾಪತಿ. ಏಳು ಹೆಸರುಗಳ ನಂತರ ಒಂದೇ ನಮಃ. ಎರಡನೆಯ ಶ್ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಮನನ್ನು ಮತ್ತೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ನಮಿಸುವ ಭೂಯೋ ಭೂಯೋ ನಮಾಮ್ಯಹಮ್ ಎಂಬ ಪಾದ.
ಶ್ಲೋಕ (ಕನ್ನಡ)
ರಾಮಾಯ ರಾಮಭದ್ರಾಯ ರಾಮಚಂದ್ರಾಯ ವೇಧಸೇ ।
ರಘುನಾಥಾಯ ನಾಥಾಯ ಸೀತಾಯಾಃ ಪತಯೇ ನಮಃ ॥
ಆಪದಾಮಪಹರ್ತಾರಂ ದಾತಾರಂ ಸರ್ವಸಂಪದಾಮ್ ।
ಲೋಕಾಭಿರಾಮಂ ಶ್ರೀರಾಮಂ ಭೂಯೋ ಭೂಯೋ ನಮಾಮ್ಯಹಮ್ ॥

ಪದಶಃ ಅರ್ಥ
- ರಾಮಾಯ (रामाय, rāmāya) = ರಾಮನಿಗೆ, ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಆನಂದ ಕೊಡುವವನಿಗೆ (to Rama, who delights all)
- ರಾಮಭದ್ರಾಯ (रामभद्राय, rāmabhadrāya) = ಮಂಗಳಕರನಾದ ರಾಮನಿಗೆ (to Ramabhadra, the auspicious Rama)
- ರಾಮಚಂದ್ರಾಯ (रामचन्द्राय, rāmacandrāya) = ಚಂದ್ರನಂತೆ ತಂಪಾದ ರಾಮನಿಗೆ (to Ramachandra, Rama gentle as the moon)
- ವೇಧಸೇ (वेधसे, vedhase) = ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ, ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗೆ (to the creator, the wise one)
- ರಘುನಾಥಾಯ (रघुनाथाय, raghunāthāya) = ರಘುವಂಶದ ಒಡೆಯನಿಗೆ (to the lord of the Raghu line)
- ನಾಥಾಯ (नाथाय, nāthāya) = ಒಡೆಯನಿಗೆ, ರಕ್ಷಕನಿಗೆ (to the lord and protector)
- ಸೀತಾಯಾಃ ಪತಯೇ (सीतायाः पतये, sītāyāḥ pataye) = ಸೀತೆಯ ಪತಿಗೆ (to the husband of Sita)
- ನಮಃ (नमः, namaḥ) = ನಮಸ್ಕಾರ (salutation)
- ಆಪದಾಮ್ (आपदाम्, āpadām) = ಆಪತ್ತುಗಳನ್ನು (of calamities)
- ಅಪಹರ್ತಾರಮ್ (अपहर्तारम्, apahartāram) = ಹೋಗಲಾಡಿಸುವವನನ್ನು (the remover)
- ದಾತಾರಮ್ (दातारम्, dātāram) = ಕೊಡುವವನನ್ನು (the giver)
- ಸರ್ವಸಂಪದಾಮ್ (सर्वसम्पदाम्, sarvasampadām) = ಎಲ್ಲ ಸಂಪತ್ತುಗಳನ್ನು (of all good fortune)
- ಲೋಕಾಭಿರಾಮಮ್ (लोकाभिरामम्, lokābhirāmam) = ಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ಆನಂದ ಕೊಡುವವನನ್ನು (the delight of the world)
- ಭೂಯೋ ಭೂಯಃ (भूयो भूयः, bhūyo bhūyaḥ) = ಮತ್ತೆ ಮತ್ತೆ (again and again)
- ನಮಾಮ್ಯಹಮ್ (नमाम्यहम्, namāmyaham) = ನಾನು ನಮಸ್ಕರಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ (I bow)
ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಅರ್ಥ (ಕನ್ನಡ)
ರಾಮನಿಗೆ, ರಾಮಭದ್ರನಿಗೆ, ರಾಮಚಂದ್ರನಿಗೆ, ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಕರ್ತನಾದವನಿಗೆ, ರಘುವಂಶದ ಒಡೆಯನಿಗೆ, ನಮ್ಮ ರಕ್ಷಕನಿಗೆ, ಸೀತೆಯ ಪತಿಗೆ ನಮಸ್ಕಾರ.
ಆಪತ್ತುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೋಗಲಾಡಿಸುವ, ಎಲ್ಲ ಸಂಪತ್ತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಡುವ, ಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ಆನಂದವಾದ ಶ್ರೀರಾಮನಿಗೆ ನಾನು ಮತ್ತೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ನಮಸ್ಕರಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ.
ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಅರ್ಥ (ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್)
Salutations to Rama, to Ramabhadra, to Ramachandra, to the creator, to the lord of the Raghu line, to our protector, to the husband of Sita.
Again and again I bow to Sri Rama, the remover of calamities, the giver of all good fortune, the delight of the world.
ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆAbout these verses
ರಾಮರಕ್ಷಾ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಇವು ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತೇಳು ಮತ್ತು ಮೂವತ್ತೈದನೆಯ ಶ್ಲೋಕಗಳು. ಸ್ತೋತ್ರದ ಫಲಶ್ರುತಿ ಹೇಳುವಂತೆ, ಶಿವನು ಕನಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಳಿಕೊಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ಬುಧಕೌಶಿಕ ಬೆಳಗ್ಗೆ ಎದ್ದು ಬರೆದನು. ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರ ಈ ತಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕ ಪುಟದಲ್ಲಿದೆ.

ವೇಧಸ್ ಎಂಬ ಪದಕ್ಕೆ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮ, ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಕರ್ತ ಎಂಬ ಅರ್ಥವೂ, ಜ್ಞಾನಿ ಎಂಬ ಅರ್ಥವೂ ಇದೆ. ರಾಮನನ್ನು ಪರಬ್ರಹ್ಮನೆಂದು ನೋಡುವ ಪರಂಪರೆ ಮೊದಲ ಅರ್ಥವನ್ನು ಆರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
The word vedhas means both Brahma, the creator, and one who is wise. The tradition that sees Rama as the supreme Brahman takes the first sense.

ಇಂದಿನ ಬದುಕಿಗೆFor life today
ಆಪತ್ತಿನ ಹೊತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮನಸ್ಸು ಅಲೆದಾಡುತ್ತದೆ, ಉದ್ದದ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ ನೆನಪಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಅಂಥ ಹೊತ್ತಿಗೆ ಎರಡು ಸಾಲಿನ ಈ ಶ್ಲೋಕ ಸಾಕು; ಉಸಿರು ನಿಧಾನವಾಗಲು ಅದೇ ಸಾಕು.
In a crisis the mind wanders and long prayers do not come back. At such a time these two short lines are enough; they are enough for the breath to slow down.
ಆಪತ್ತನ್ನು ದೇವರು ತೆಗೆದುಹಾಕಲಿ ಎಂದು ಕೇಳುವಾಗಲೇ ನಮ್ಮ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಮುಂದಿನ ಸಣ್ಣ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆ ಯಾವುದು ಎಂದು ಯೋಚಿಸುವುದೂ ರಾಮನ ದಾರಿ. ರಾಮ ಸ್ವತಃ ಸೇತುವೆ ಕಟ್ಟಿದವನು.
While asking God to remove the calamity, thinking about the next small step within our own reach is also Rama’s way. Rama himself built a bridge.
